Painting for me is a spiritual and physical exploration. It is my goal to translate my relationship to the landscape and bring the essence of the  landscape to the viewer.
    The varied media that I work with enables me to build compositions that are both rich in texture and color,representing the details of the natural landscape which inspires me.
    I began printmaking in Brooklyn, and learned painting and the importance of light in Southern France. Later on to Tuscany and Cape Cod where the light, heat and grassy textures  are similar. Perhaps for me it is the drama of the environment, that motivates me.
    My work is inspired by my travel photographs.  My  studio is filled with platforms of color pastels, and portfolios of varied hand made papers. I love working with the papers, creating layers of transparencies. When I am building an image the use of multi medias allows me freely to reconnect with the physical tone of the environment,and give reverence to it.
